The elephants

These animals are absolutely magnificent. So amazing to get to be this close to them. There is an interesting story about where these elephants are. The elephants shown in the video below are actually in Namibia. The Chobe River that we are floating divides Botswana from Namibia. There is a great island in the middle that is concentrated with all kinds of fantastic creatures. Botswana was able to claim the island because the depth of the river identifying the island from the Botswana side is about three meters deep where the soil lies something like seven meters below the surface making Namibia the runner up.

I am hopeful that it will take a terribly long time to load the six minutes of video that I have to load. The connection here dictates that I crush the video to the point where I am not totally satisfied as to the quality. Again, maybe a few of you can see it in it's full glory when I get back. Others, sorry this is about the best I can do from over here.

Hoping that you are all very well. Today was pretty ridiculous and cost me the option of staying up and continuing this post. I will make my best effort to give more details here very soon.

Memory of the day: Sometimes even when you do everything correctly you will take bullets. Took a hit for a study plan that someone else wrote. Remember that it's not personal, it's business. Just make the adjustments and keep on rockin'.

All is just fine

  1. Jake, what a GREAT attitude.

You really are the owner of the process, and the landmines that others have planted (and walked away from), are yours to de-fuse and correct.

You are a true professional. I admire so much what you are doing.

    Great! elephant shots. Wow!

And I do appreciate the geopgraphy lesson. Pretty confusing looking at a map of all the interlocked countries.

  2. Hey Sweetie, great video. I was on the edge of my chair watching it....yikes, you guys floated right up to the elephants. It looked for a minute like you might get sprayed by the one nearest you. I guess they are accustomed to the boat. Once again, I liked the music, too.

Remind me later to tell you about Starbucks this morning. Thursday is your hump-day and my Friday, now that I'm part time. Hope the rest of your week is full of successes and blessings.
    Love you, Jake!

  3. INCUBUS!!! I nearly fell out of my chair when I heard those unmistakable beginning notes of Aqueous Transmission - peeeeeerfect match :) I love the elephants, and the little break from stippling that they just afforded me. Hope the heat you had to take at the lab today wasn't too toasty... Tomorrow (now your today) is a brand new day, and your week will be half over by its close!

I cannot imagine the thrill of being so close to such big and magnificent beasts.

Taking a hit for something you had no part of, without deflection or flinching is a mark of a true leader, a great follower and one who understands the true significance of the Christ's calling, purpose and single mindedness in serving others. Being prepared does not prepare you for that kind of bullet, but it prepares you for your response. All we truly have control over in this life is how we react to the things that happen to and around us.

    Good show: elephants and leadership.

You truly honor your family name and the life lessons of Jesus.

    Much love,
    pappy
